quick question about turbo setup
Ok i got a block thazz built for boost..... my next decision is wa head to use... well i have 2 perfectly good LS heads ...i was wonderin if i should upgrade the LS head so it can take the boost or should i buy a vtec head like gsr or b16???
LSVTAK alone is not as easy as you may think it's made up to be. Since your asking this question, I'm interpreting that you have little to no experience with LSV setups, let alone Forced Induction. I'd suggest you read up (search) and do research as much as you can before you attempt to dive into this world of Boost and LSVtak. There are many archived threads on this forum to help you with the many different variables that you will encounter as you decide to step into the "Darkside".
If you already know the answers, more power to you. LSVT setups produce madd power, as long as you know wtf you're doing.

i'd say just build the ls head , valves, springs retainers, port, cams, ls head doesnt flow anything like a gsr head would, but the boost will make up the difference.... unless yr going to properly build yr ls/vtec i.e. take the time to do it right and not just slap a vtec head on yr block . either way u go just dont skimp on your build ..you'll regret it down the road
lol.. yea spec r.. street racer... i did research and i see the gsr head is better for all motor and the b16 for turbo because of the low compresion.... but i also been told that ls turbo can be a beast.. well my block includes forged low compression pistons.. light weight crank... ARP head studs and rod bolts with eagle rods and JE pistons.. well if i did go vtec i would use the golden eagle ls/vtec conversion kit... but i have not still made up my mind on which head... i just want something thazz powerfull enough to compete in the streets

Good addition to the thread.
OP: depending on how much money you have and miles on your engine, I would consider boosting the stock engine. I've seen people get a good tune and for it to last for awhile.
While you are running on that engine, you could build up one on the side and wait for it to blow.

if he's building a car for street racing, why should anyone contribute?
