hi there !

I replaced the distributor cap rotor and the wire set on a 96 civic lx 4 dr with AT when the 4th cylinder stopped working(i unplugged one by one the wires from the spark plugs to find that out).Also it looks like there is unburned fuel coming from the exhaust pipe.
So I taught there was something wrong with one of the parts .So I put back the old parts , and still have the 4th cylinder not working.Today I replaced the distributor and still have that problem .I am sure that I have the wires in the right firing order .
So what do you guys think is the problem ?
Have any of you ever had that weird problem?

Umm my guess is that your fourth piston ring is done so stick a fork in it (loss of compression ). Run a compression check to verify it. Time for a swap IMO. burp.

 

how can that be just from a tune up?

 

do you run it hard? how many miles on it? What kinda car, engine ,and mods?

 

no just normal driving ,its a d16y7 on 96 civix lx 152k

 

humm..... interesting...... umm I would do the compression check just to rule that out first then I would proceed to check all the fuses on the car to make sure that it isn't something of the electrical nature. burp.......umm good brew.

I fixed it it was a wrong engine firing order .
