I just put in new headers on my accord and it feels and sounds just fine but for some reason the check engine light is on, has this happened to anyone else?

 

did you reconnect the o2 sensor ?

 

yeah I made sure it wasn't over tightened

 

ok what is the dtc ?

so its the sensor I didn't even touch, I'm just hoping it came loose when I unhooked the old header from the cat, has this happened to any one else?

 

Those wires are strapped in there pretty tight under there. If you left the SHO2 plugged in and connected to the heat shield. You may have pulled one of the pins/wires out of the SHO2 connector when you dropped the pipe. Give the connector a good going over and ensure that none of the wires have been pulled apart.

 

Also. The heater wire (the white one) they are very sensitive internally, you may need a new o2 sensor now since you moved it around when replacing the exhaust system. This has happened to me before.

 

I gave it a quick look today and it looked fine but I'm going to get under there tomorrow to take a good look, so the white one is the heater wire, if it came loose could I just put it back where it goes?
