anything is possible. it's simply a matter of how much time, money, and patience you have.

but if you want my opinion on it, this swap is pointless besides the whole "wtf!?" factor. for the time and money spent doing this, you could have built one serious motor with your h22.

assuming the swap would be successful, yes i believe you can bar it. reason being that it's a motor for a car. not like the B20 from a CRV which would classify as a semi-truck motor i think? do you know whats involved with the swap? its not a direct drop in, and i dont know what you're gonna do with the engine harness.. but i'd imagine that'd be some work.

it's a total custom job. i haven't really stayed uptodate with the whole k series fad but i wouldn't be surprised if a shop or two made mounts for us but that's the least of your worries. you reside in cali, that's just asking for more problems. i don't know just how strict emissions laws are in cali but here in wa they have quite a bit of rules for engine swaps.

in cali, really you can have any motor in your car and have it legal. its the process that people are unaware of or unwilling to do. i dare say that with the method i know, an RB26DETT in a prelude chassis can be street legal, its no big secret. its just that very few have any information on what the process is. there is a member on this very board that deals with this kinda thing.

a swap + wrong chassis = can't smog
a swap from a CAR + wrong chassis = can't bar
a swap from a CAR + wrong chassis + alternative fuel = REF-able. making it SMOG exempt forever, not just 2 years, but forever.

i learned this from a lot of research on honda-tech, but basically you need to tune your motor to run on an alternative fuel like Propane. now with that, you are technically legal. when you get your hood popped it'll have your motor setup written out and the cop won't be able to argue that your motor's illegal and ideally you would be on your way home.

The small technicality in this is that the law says that your car is an alternative fuel vehicle. but lets say your ECU has the magical ability to retune on gasoline again.. I WONDER HOW THAT CAN BE?! lol but basically, if you tune once on propane and pass the REF that way.. you should be okay forever.

the argument is that the low compression motor + forced induction is what makes the alternative fuel use possible. IIRC.. im just summarizing a lot of information i've read over the past year or so
