2.0 Prelude swap?
Can you use a late 80's prelude motor in a civic?
I came across something that said it was a "b20a5"... so if it's a b series I can swap it in right?
and I don't mean is it "possible" I mean is it a straight up swap like any other b series...
thanks in advance
searched got my answer thanks... sorry for the pointless post.

Re: 2.0 Prelude swap? (tinkerbell)
does anyone have anymore detail on this... it's a FREE motor..
totally FREE... I'm not gunna swap other wise and it's probobly sit on a
stand for a long time before it went in... but I don't want to spend all the time putting it together if it's gunna be a beotch of a swap.

If it turns out it will not be an easy swap I might be interested in buying it. I have a 2.1 lude that is burning oil like crazy and I think I want to put a 2.0 back in it.

Those ARE the outcast b-series motors (although, I'm still rebuilding mine for lots of boost . reworking that r/s ratio...).
Nothing like it's cousins, including mounting. I think it'd be a bigger headache than it's worth. Especially if it's high mileage. Think about it: high miles, crappy power figures, and an uber hassle getting mounts custom made to fit.
Do you just need an engine period? or are you looking to replace a working motor? If you current motor is all good, I think you should save your cash.

Ya my car runs as is... so I guess I'll turn him down...
as far as selling it I'm not sure someone else has already got 2nd dibs on it...
also keep in mind I'm in ct... so getting to ca wouldn't be cheap or easy. but if you're interested i guess pm me.

Re: 2.0 Prelude swap? (liquid51)
My B21A1 is smoking like crazy and I have been told that all B21s do that. If I take the time to put in a new motor, I want it to be one that will work well. As you have said, the B20 is not the best, but it is incredibly easy to swap for the B21. I know a guy that used his B21 tranny, ECU, distributor, intake, exhaust, etc. The only thing that was tricky was one mount. But if the B20 is really not that good, should I go with something like the H22 that requires mucho work to put in the 91 (3g) lude?

There is quite a bit of work invloved with the h22 swap. It'd be way easier if PlaceRacing got their mounts right
I've heard of some people getting their engine in w/out too many problems (although the engine still sits crooked), but the bolt holes on mine are so far off, theres no way to even get the bolts in. I just took some measurements and am having my welder adjust them. I'm gonna post when it's done, with some pics. I'm gonna try to video the dyno runs too.
