not likely ,

would you want to tell me why you would want to put a smaller less displacement , less trq and hp in a heavy pig like the prelude?

it has been an common thing thought up by, due to the high status and parts available for the B series, but to downgrade the prelude chassis .4 liters, and take away what honda intended for the chasis, would be a disgrace.

But on the other hand, I can see someone asking if anyone has done a K series swap, even though 2 liters, the new technology is far superior

I'm sure someone has probably done it, but as everyone else has said ..... why?? Tweaking the hell out of the engine and running all the top end stuff, you can make 220-230 whp, but only with about 150-160 wtorque. Not that it is all that easy/cheap to do that with an H22, but it is a lot less and easier than doing it to a B-Series, trust me .......

The Type R only weighed 2,500 lbs, so it was fine with 1.8L of screaming fury, but with 3,000+ lbs to lug around, the Prelude needs a motor that has more range in it, and not as much revs.

IMHO of course ...............

heavily modifying a K is a bad idea, and for most people a complete waste of money as far as a swap is concerned.

my friends shop figured the cost at around $6100 for the parts alone to put a DC5r engine into a hatch. and that is with family members that import engines.

extending and modifying fuel lines, fuel rails, wiring harnesses, motor mounts, shift linkages, etc etc etc is far from cheap.

the average hatch with a K in it costs about 9 grand for the swap and work after its all said and done. thats with the motor mounts already produced. custom mounts for a lude would be almost a grand considering mounts for a hatch are nearly 600.

as far as the K series sucking ***, the K uses roller rockers. over rev them once and watch the head go to hell. the journals are small etc etc etc.

putting anything other then an H motor into a prelude is just plain wrong.

the k once in, and settled, would no doubt be the best way to create power, if your looking at it from a NA standpoint

it will take a lot more then i can explain. but look at the big guys in racing. any of them using K's? nope. they are all still sticking to H and B series motors.

yes the K is easy to make power out of, and if you are just a general tinkerer then its fine for you. but if you are going for big power look elsewhere. one money shift and that head is toast.

look a lot more into it if you want to seriously mod it. but if you want to get your girl an rsx - s just to have a fun car, then happy driving. im sure she will love it.

shakes is right.....as far as boltons and littl estuff goes, the k would be better.....but the h is a better motor for heavy mods....

but if boltons was all you were gonna do, it wouldnt be worth the money that you put into the k....

stick with the h.....you will keep up with the k guys with it anyways.....the extra money you save with it you could put cams in the h....

gee i could have SWORN that the K series is being used by Skunk2....k24 block and k20 head.
9.86 @ 140.71 seems pretty damn respectable to me for all motor.

seems like they just might be a big guy....but then again i guess they jsut suck.
