Carb help needed!
So I have a 1983 Honda Civic 1500 S. I recently went in and changed the head gasket as well as a lot of other small things. I put everything back together and am positive that it is all in order. The problem I am having is that the butterfly will not open on the carb...I looked at it from the passenger side and it appears that where the throttle cable attaches to the pulley at the carb, the pulley is stopping the butterfly from being able to open. If anyone has any advice or a detailed picture that would be awesome!
Forgot to mention that gas pools on top of the butterfly...I have really no experience with carbs so I will describe the best I can...the barrel (think thats the name for it) towards the firewall is working perfectly fine I think but the big one in the middle seems to not open...is this because it is operated by vacuum? Why would gas pool on top of it?
Also having a hard time setting the ignition timing since my Haynes is not really that helpful at the moment...any links would be awesome! Thanks!

So today I pulled one of the two fuel feed lines on the carb and plugged it...the thing started and ran! Obviously this wont work for anything other than making sure I dont have any other problems but its pretty clear the second barrel is getting too much fuel and it needs to be rebuilt. Going to either order a Weber conversion kit or rebuild this one.
yes in most cases the egr is not used with the weber. its a super easy swap if you get the adapter/ install kit. its harder(and takes longer) to remove the old one with all the associated crap then it is to install the weber and adjust it.

Yeah going to try and get rid of as much crap as possible since its cluttered and I will be purchasing a Weber soon. I have found a place online but their ordering is kind of confusing and I want to make sure it comes with everything, any sight suggestions? The site I found has the filter, linkage, carb, adapter and everything else needed for 335 plus shipping.
I would buy from
http://www.webercarbsdirect.com/
i have bought from them before, be wary of lower priced so called "weber" carbs, a lot of them are chinese copies that are really solex carbs they are junk. the site I listed only sells real webers

Thanks for the link! Unfortunately the conversion is going to be put off for a while...going out of the country for a couple weeks soon so I got to have some extra $$$ coming in. But, this is deffinately on the to-do list unless I come across a ridiculously cheap complete d-series swap!
