Help with stuck throttle cable pulley!
Just got my 2000 Civic Si out of storage, I was oversea's for the last 10 months. Jump-started it and it turned right over, but the gas pedal felt really stiff and it wouldn't rev. Checked under the hood and the throttle cable pulley was so tight I couldn't even turn it with my hands. I let the car idle to charge the battery and I guess the warmth from the motor un-seized the pulley and I can now use the gas pedal. I want to lubricate the pulley because it obviously needs it, but what kind of lubricant should I use? WD40? A grease of some kind?
