Default "Slack" in gas pedal?

Does anyone else have any slack in their gas pedal? I have to push mine in 1/2 to 1 inch before it "engages" and the car begins to accelerate. It feels really loose. A few of my friends have this, but all of them have swaps, my GSR has the stock B17. I tried tightening/loosening/adjusting the throttle cable, but that didnt help. What do I need to do to fix it?

easily fixable problem-- just tighten up the throttle cable at the throttle body. its the nut at the cable bracket on the intake manifold near the throttle pulley. loosen up the side near the pulley quite a bit, and tighten up the side away from the pulley until the cable is tight. then tighten up the pulley side. dont take out too much slack, though, cause then the throttle wont fully close. go ahead and spray out the throttle body real good before you do this so it will close good.
