Default H22 Turbo Overheating issue. Need Help

Hey wats up Honda Tech. I got a 92 prelude fully built wit a GT35R Ballbearing turbo. I put an aluminum radiator wit a slim line fan and it still was overheating. I changed the thermostat and it still overheats. The motor got less than 100 miles on it and a cometic head gasket and new water pump were installed. Cant figure out the problem. Even wen drivin on the highway it still overheats. After about 10-15 mins it starts overheatin. Please Help Me Honda Tech. Thanks

Sounds like a bubble in the system. Even if you bleed out through the bleed screw you can still get a bubble thats hard to get out . Try feeding water and coolant through the upper rad hose til its full and make sure you have your heater running while you bleed through the bleed screw.

i have the exact same setup as you, and i went through 2 motors because of overheating, make sure you bleed the hell out of the system, with the correct ratio of antifreeze and water not just pure water, and check your radiator cap, better yet just get a new one, then i would also buy a aftermatket temp gauge that shows the actual temperature reading. i would also get a ratiator pressure tester from autozone and check for leaks, in sure its something small just dont let it overheat anymore.

I would recommend an aftermarket temp gauge as well. Do you have a fan shroud? Do you have a half size radiator? Are you POSITIVE you installed the headgasket correctly?

I have the same set up as you. I ran into similar problems and it turned out to be a sensor was bad. Do you know for a fact that your car is overheating? Meaning temperature not the gauge. Also in your car when the car is warm, does your gauge read the temp at half point?

are you using your normal oil.. if you boost it your pumping idk really hot exhaust gases into your engine even with an intercooler you need to change your oil to a much thicker one if you had your car tuned by someone else they should know which thickness of oil to use do not use synthetic

also h22 engines run really really hot under the hood so do F22 engines i have the same problem on my naturally aspirated car and i replaced everything from the tstat to the water pump all the way down to the hoses and mine is still overheating to i must have spent 500 dollars in just different types of radiators

just for giggles are you using a different radiator cap other than the stock one?
(19 pounds or a double locking one)
if your running a civic radiator with the proper oil it should run a tad hotter than half with the heat off

hope that helps
