What to do about a tiny rust spot the size of a needle head?
Hey guys, i just bought this G35 and it had some rust on the fender, really tiny. Its maybe a little bigger than a needle head, but its rusted now. What should i do?
I was thinking of scratching out the rust and using some clear nail polish? But this is a ghetto fix, what is a legit one without having to paint it. Hows the OEM paint fill ins work?
And should i scrape off the rust? Yes right?

First. Don't use clear nail polish. It will NOT work. Did that. Done that on my 1978 Buick Regal when I was in HS.
Size of a needle head? Could it be a metal shaving stuck in there?
Two suggestions:
1. Wax over it. Maybe it'll just stop there. (does not sound like it will work since you mention it's rust, and not a paint chip down to the base).
2. Got touch up paint. Many dealer sell touch ups that have a brush on one end and a pen tip on the other. It may not look perfect, but at least cover up the spot from it getting worst.

I read that rust unless you have something th counteract it, will get worst over time!
Do dealer touch up paint come with this built on? I Know some paint from like home depot does...

- Rust is like Cancer. You can hope it'll stop. Nearly all of the time, it will spread and make good surfaces bad. Something need to be done to stop it.
- The paint I got from Ford have both ends. The paint I got from GM only have the brush. The paint I got from Honda, only have a brush. So you'll have to find out who sells what, and where.

i havd the same problem. so thanks for the advice and also some deep chips that went down to the metal and i wana get at them before they to rust
If its a paint chip that has rusted, its not a big deal. Use the corner edge of a razor blade to scrape the rust off and clean up the edges of the chip. Use touch up paint (I reccomend Duplicolor) to fill it, and clear Duplicolor t/u on top of that. Wetsand lightly after it dries and buff to a nice shine. Its not as good as prep and paint for the whole panel, but this is what I do at work and it meets our 5ft standards.

Autozone is pretty good at keeping a full rack. Wal Mart has been a backup source for me. Some dealer touch up kits have both base and a clear top coat. You can still wetsand and buff without a clear top layer if you have a hard time finding one.
