Powdercoat Removal

I posted this one in the appearance and cosmetic and no one seems to know.. well, I have some wheels that was powder coated along time ago... anyway, my wife curb checked my back wheel. I want to know how to strip the coat... I spoke with some paint/body shops in town but they said they would touch this thing with a 20 ft pole... I want to paint it myself with the gun metal thing in a can from Autozone.. any suggestions?

Aircraft stripper with rough sandpaper should do the job.

yeah, i think this is the best way to get the powdercoat off. that whole sandblasting thing is just wont do it. sandblasting would be the way to go-its the most logical.
