Default Over heating or not?

Hey I have a 92 prelude with a H23 and I think I have a problem but not sure. The motor is feeling extremely hot no mater how I drive it, but, the temp guage shows to be normal ( I guess, its showing up to the 2nd bar). I removed the thermostat and it still gets hot just not as quick. Is this normal or do I have a problem. I was also wondering what temp the fan comes on at. The motor is stock with just a cai.
Thanks

Normal operating temp is the 2nd bar or the 12 O'clock position.....Not sure on what temp the fan kicks on but I would guess around 200 or 220......

Some things to check that Ive had problems with are the (radiator cap getting wore out ,bleeding the coolant of air bubbles, bad thermostat, clogged radiator due to lack of coolant flushes)

As long as the fans turn on, and then shut off after a few minutes or so, then you're fine. Just worry when the temp gauge gets towards the red bar fast.
