my car idels at 3k rpm, how can this be fixed, need your help honda techs
i have a 91 crx si w/b16a and a itr intake manifold. i dont know if my freinds did all the wiring right, any have a pic. or some info they can share w/me. the car is ideling at 3k rpm, and i have no idea to get it down. some help me thanks
My B16 is doing the same thing right now. I have had heard a couple opinions about it. One is that it may be the EAVC or IAC, the thing on the back of the manifold. Either that or the fast idle thingy. That's under the throttle body with the coolant hoses going through it. The Air Idle has to be replaced if its that, but it that is the problem you would be getting a check engine code. The other is a mechanical problem. I heard that one solution is to cut and old tin can, take that part off the throttle body, then slip the tin can in between so that the air hole between the fast idle and the throttle body will be blocked off. I will be trying that tin can solution tomorrow. I'll let you know how it turns out.

my zc did that for the first 2 months i had it. then it wokred itself out. i actually knew what it was. the throttle on the intake manifold was sticking so when id rev out at all it wouldnt go back all the way and get stuck at 3000 rpms. the way to check it is when its ideling high pop the hood and press down on the throttle and see if the rpms go down at all. it worked for me i know thats an odd problem but worth a try and free to fix
Mine was at 5k when I did my MPFI swap.... turned out to be a huge vaccum leak, the Intake manifold didn't seal up to the head right. you can see my ordeal at:

My guess is that you didn't get the right iacv, the jdm b16a one and the itr one are different sizes, and so if you are using the b16a one then air is leaking and thus the high idle.
i have iavc off a gsr manifold. be cause i have a itr intake manifold. it is a used part, i looked on acuraautomotive.com. and the part off a type r and the part off a gsr are the same numbers. it is clean and looks good. i had a freind tell me to set the timing to 16, i have no idea what that is. would that be the problem. keep them coming. thanks

sounds to me like the daspot sitting right next to the throttle body in the intake manifold is seeing vacuum... disconnect the hose going to it, and see what happens....

check all the vaccuum hoses comming off the intake manifold, if one of them came off that would do it.
