Car keeps wanting to stay at 2k while at idle???
I just installed a new Throttle Body and now my car is acting up when it is at idle, it seems to want to stay at 2k, and then when I rev it a bit it goes back down to the norm... Any suggestions?
Are all the cables clear? Have you gotten under the hood and moved the throttle lever to see if anything's sticking?
If nothing's sticking when you move the throttle by hand, the next most likely culprit is the idle air control motor. I've never changed the one on my honda, but I had this problem before on my impala, strangely enough right after putting a bigger throttle body on it. Cure was to take the IAC off and soak it in gasoline for an hour and scrub it with a toothbrush.
I'm not sure where the IAC is located on a honda, but it's fairly easy to recognize. It will be somewhere on the intake, probably on the throttle body itself, and is a small cylinder 2-3 inches long with an electrical connection on it. Should only be held on by a couple of screws.
