when you change your pistons & rings,

the motor pretty much starts back at 0 miles right??

 

not exactly. I would say if you changed the rings, bearings, oil pump, water pump, gaskets, etc... then yes. If you just swapped out the rings/pistons I would say you "freshened" things up... but in a kind of half *** way if you didn't check bearings, oil pump, clean, etc...
