redline problem
i have a gsr motor in my 98 civic and for some reason when im racing it goes up to 7 rpms and than the engine cuts off.... is that normal??? cause i thought you could take it atleast up to 8 rpms
Check and see if you have the right ECU. By the sounds of it, you may still have your D16Y8 ECU in it... If you check the ECU, for your swap, it should read P72 in the middle 3 numbers.
i had the same problem on my b16 i have it on a 97 civic ex...it it would redline at 6 rpm....but only after i put a vtec controler....the i just turn the car of then back on it it would redline back to normal at 7/12 rpm...i never knew what it was.
Well I don't believe that the LX came with VTEC so your mechanic would have had to send a wire from the VTEC solenoid to the ECU. If he didn't do that then thats why you have no crossover... Check and see if the wire that goes from the solenoid connects to the ECU pigtail. Just look at the color of the wire and tracer and see if it goes into the ECU.
