Hi , i have a problem with my civic 94 with GSR swap the problem is passing 5,800rpm don't pop vtec sound any sound and a few weeks later showed Check engine light and after that always is with Check engine light , what is the problem ? maybe Ecu error with solenid ? or something ? Thank you

Yes pull the codes. Also what ECU do you have? Are you saying it doesn't pass 5800 RPMs?

 

I guess it's p72 96-00 i guess that is the ecu but passing 5,800rpm doesn't pop vtec sound and I suppose it is working and i read some post that said when Check Engine is ON the vtec doesn't work I didn't put scanner yet Thanks too answer

 

5,800 is not the VTEC changeover point. That's when the secondary intake runners open, and unless you have a 94-01 GSR ECU, it's not going to open the intake runners.

 

You "guess" it is a p72, maybe should pull the ECU and confirm what it is.
What year is the GS-R engine?
Is it a USDM or JDM engine? 94
