how much boost will be safe to run daily on pump gas with a sleeved block???!!!

just so you know im not bullshitting, here is the car, and set up with my stock b16

 

However much boost it takes to make ~450whp. Depends on what your tuner feels safe tuning to on pump. Call your tuner and ask him whats the max power he likes to tune for on pump gas.

PSI is irrelevant.

psi is too relevant... for instance, my tuner john kerr tuned a car on 14lbs put down 471whp (t67)

my turbo is good to about that power but not on pump gas, the higher the compression the motor the less boost you can run on pump w/o detonation

by what your saying is since i made 340 at 16 lbs, i could turn it up to 25lbs and make 450 and still be safe?? NO WAY

to the op... you will need to have it tuned and they will find what they think to be safe on pump gas, with your compression i would say anything under 19 lbs and you will be ok with the sc34 on pump gas

 

He means that different turbos make different power at same psi. So asking what PSI is good for pump gas does not make sense. 10psi on a T25 is different then 10psi on a GT42r.

 

right, but I have my turbo and set up listed...what would be safe for MY turbo for max power for pump gas?!

Corey tuned SiAdam's car with the same turbo and stock sleeve b16 at about 18psi to ~400whp on pump.

I understand. It is still a broad question. It matters on the tuner, how the car is acting, etc.

agread... anything more then 400+ is a waste on the street anyways

 

I made 561 whp @24psi on 100 octane which still consider pump gas but I switch to C16.

yes this is very true imo, especially if you dont live right on a highway.

i feel that my car works best on the street at 13-14 psi, which is right around 380whp. this was enough to get the car to trap 122mph and it keeps up with just about anything i run into.

my high boost setting on the dual stage boost controller is 18 psi, where i made 425 or so. even with 205 bfg drag radials 3 gear still spins a lot, its only 4th or pretty much above 90mph that its dead hooking

 

you said it's true in your opinion? That doesn't make any sense. It might be true for your car. Plenty of people around here have no problem hooking up 500whp on the street. It's all in suspension/tires/boost control setup.

Damn my car must be some sort of mutant. 325whp @ 11psi in a full interior ej1 with a full tank of gas and I ran a shitty 13.1 (street tires and I'm a really shitty driver, also my first time at the track) @ 118mph.

you are not hooking 500whp full throttle on the street in any gear less than 3rd unless you have huge [freak]ing tires.

if its all in the boost control, then its not 500hp now is it.

 

In my humble opinion to go into tuning a car with a preset thought of I want this many pounds of boost is kind of a bad idea. Your tuner will know what to look for and know when to stop pushing any further.

Case in point a friend of mine who has pretty close to the same setup as me, he just doesn't have as much headwork had to stop tuning his at 14 pounds on pump gas as where mine went to 18 pounds.

Either way looking at your setup it will make good numbers and should be alot of fun to drive!! Good luck with the tuning.
