Default Dyno: Stock B16, pump gas

stock b16--stock pistons/rods/hg/head bolts---heads never been off
stock cams
edelbrock intake manifold
rc750s
hondata s200
full race ram horn turbo kit
t3/t68
13/14 psi

turbo's obviously way too big for the motor...customer has sleeved LS block he is slowly building. should be pretty fun

I love how everyone scoffs at this powerband because it's awful for a turbocharger, yet some people still advocate Vortech superchargers for their throttle response and powerband even though they produce a powerband similar to this, haha.

I bet he can't wait to throw that sleeved block in and pump up the boost and rev it out a bit. That turbo wants lots more.

haha the turbo is so laggy that the car felt best with vtec real low. with vtec higher the dip wasnt as apparent....but it actually picked up a little low end power by putting vtec earlier.

tony have you gotten to use this turbo on a bigger motor yet? the difference between 10 and 13psi was 60 horsepower which was kinda cool.

looking at the graph it sure doenst look like it...now it makes me want to go back and look at some of the earlier graph's. i know i put vtec there for a reason. when it had a 30r on it, vtec was a little higher. cars coming back next week for a few little odds and ends. i'll check it out again. when you drive the car, when vtec comes on...it def. feels like it picks up a good amount of power.

well since im the only one who commented on the powerband i guess im thinking this was directed at me?

i owned a B16 built by inline pro for 4 years, and i tried every big turbo out there and it was super laggy so i know what this guy is goin thru, thats all

it is a large turbo, even for an LS/vtec set up that is coming along, if its a street car, IMO

Really good numbers!
How long the car will support that power setup with stock pistons/rods/hg/head bolts?

this car has already been running around 310whp for well over a year now. this car has less timing in it at 14 psi than my car has in it at 40psi lol

yes it was made clear in the first post that the turbo is too big for the little b16, it was purchased to be used with a 85mm ls/vtec set up that is in the process of being built.

that power band in my eyes is perfect for a street tire car. I was running consistent 12.0's on Wal-Mart tires on a stock LS a few years ago. Full boost was at 6,300 and I had very minimum tire spin. 12.0's @ 120-123

Nice job joe

Nope just directed at the car itself.

I was basically saying a lot of people will say "Superchargers make instant boost!" but then you can look at this powerband and see it's not the best in terms of instant throttle response, but it's basically what a Vortech dyno will look like.
