what did that thing leave the line on the 2 step at...like 7500 rpm?? sounded pretty high.

Good to see you guys making progress with the car. Took mine out two weeks ago and found out a 1.31 fourth gear is to tall for the 1/4 so I got a 1.21 and a new pro ring to get some more mile an hour.

 

Why is a 1.31 to high? What ring are you running and what kind of power are you pushing if you don't mind? And yes my 2step had the wrong pill in it, it was a 8000 chip.

 

we run 1/4 mile and the trans gears are 3.88 ring and pinion, 3.78 first 2.21 second gear 1.58 third and 1.31 fourth. Motor makes about 210 horse power, car weighs 1420 with me in it and currently hits the rev limiter set at 8000 rpm right at the 1000 foot cone. So with the changeto a 1.21 I hope to get the all the way to the finish line before bouncing off the rev limiter.

However we pulled the trans apart and the pro ring I have in there is a 8 tooth gear and the new one is a 10 tooth gear. So I hope it works. If not I need to find another.

 

here is our bug up at Georgia it was 38degrees out. cold as hell. we dorve up fri night sat morning it was snowing & sun we raced. couldnot believe we drove up thier for snow. lol

fastest we ran yet due to the cold ran a 8.97 + 153mph
now we are running 9.0 9.2 consistant with only 630whp at 2050lbs

Well with that kind of weight yes the 1.21 you will see a big different in mph and with that 1.58 third that 1.21 will be perfect hope it works for u

 

my buddy back in the virgin island had 13b in 67 bug that **** was voilent

 

we have seen them on the internet but none at the track cause the stock tranny cant hold much power & the high reving but it is deffinatly fun

 

yeah he was using a ranco trans axle
