b16 tranny reverse problem
99 civic si
ok so heres the problem. the car has been sitten in a garage since 9/07 but i turn it on every week drive it around a little other than that it just sits. now i went to move it and it was a bitch to get into reverse.every other gear goes in smooth. even when the car is off its a bitch.now my one friend is saying its a fork in my trans that is bent and said hes heard its common in b16 trans... now my other boy says its probly my pressure plate is bent which is what im leaning more toward that but at the same time i dont wanna do alll that work and put it back up and need a new trans anyway. now i dont understand how either could bend with the car just sitting and rarely b driven but let me kno what u guys think.ima take the trans down tomorrow and take a better look.o and it is a act pressure plate and 6 puck disc. worst part is the car is for sale but i cant sell it like that

How would the pressure plate be bent? Enless its the forks but that would affect it all the time.
Might be the clutch going out, or something internal.
Change the fluid or check the level.

only reason i think it could b bent is like i said im selling it and some dude came to test drive it and couldnt drive stick for ****. he was tryna beat on it and maybe it bent the forks ..the fluids are good....clutch is fairly new has maybe 5k on it however i did swap the pressure plate for a new competition one to a used act one that had maybe 20k miles on the plate bu it was in good condition and i drove on it fine with no problems until now
If it's only reverse issues, it's definitely not the pressure plate. And man..... if I was you... I would have smacked the **** outta the dude test driving my car if he tried to force it into gear. You're probably looking at a bent fork or worse... the only way you'll really find out exactly what the problem is is if you disassemble the tranny. Good luck man, and go kick that motherf@#$% in the face after you fix the problem.
ok so heres an update took off the trans...T\o bearing good clutch is good pressure plate is good..linkages are straight.. ima open the trans up tomorrow but im pretty sure now its the fork inside...just wondering how difficult this is gonna be and how much its prolly gonna cost let me kno when u think
