it does have a high-pitched whistle when it blows off, but no fluttering. at 6 psi should sound nice.

I describe it as a pressure release sound like from a soda bottle but deeper than a short whistle afterwards.

Is the Type S louder than the HKS SS? Man I wish there was a place you could compare sounds.

i had the type s on my car for a couple years and eventually switched out to the hks std racing bov. all i can say about the greddy type s is.... that whistle gets damn annoying after 2 years.

the hks ss is definetly louder, my friend has the type s, and I had the hks ss on my stolen car. you could hear the hks over the greddy. but I liked the greddy better, his has a nice short flutter followed by a long whistle. if you watch the fast in the furious, in the beginning scene where the civic's are stealing that truck, those are type s's ( although the cars didn't have turbos)

No sound file for the Type-S? Which is it comparable to? I like the sound of the larger HKS valve.

my blitz sounds nothing like the sound file even with the horn. Will loosening the nut on top make it louder.

IF you want to be heard....... Greddy Type S hands down. At only 7psi you can hear it 4 cars deep. Roll up next to someone and watch them jump when you ka-ching them.
My Blitz is really quite. I thought it was going to be louder but no! It takes about 10psi or more to get it to really sound off. If I could change BOV's right now...I would swap for a Type S.
