Default bov not sounding right?

so we bought a boosted integra for my brother and when we pushed it we noticed the blow off valve didnt sound like we'd expect it..we went on youtube and searched the sound of the greddy type rs and ours sounds alot different then theres..the car is tuned at 1.2 bar..people say to get a better sound the boost needs to be high but with my greddy type s at 9 pounds it sounds way louder than his..what could b the problem..all vacuum lines are perfect

The RS is supposed to be quieter than the S. I have one for that very reason.

Try this page...http://www.blowoffvalves.com/ and watch one of the Greddy RS clips. Sounds similar to mine.

Maybe check the adjustment. If it's adjusted loose it would have less of a whoosh to it.

Are you talking about the vacuum nipple or the adjustable allen wrench? For the vacuum nipple just tight it by hand. You don't want to shred the tread so hand tight is fine. If you worry about leaks than put som typlon tap around it and put it back on. For the adjustable allen wrench, you don't want it too tight or too lose. In between where it won't leak and won't have compression surge.

I was speaking of the adjustable allen wrench, as pointed out by turb20_vtec. Make sure you loosen up the lock nut or you can strip the housing.

Regardless of the adjustments made, i'd just make sure that its holding the boost level you are operating at and that you are not getting compressor surge, other than that who cares about the sound.

Agreed, but if it's sounding soft, it may mean it's not adjusted properly and opening up a bit under boost. If it's not doing that and you have no surge, then it doesn't matter.
