is it me or ur cylinder walls look a little scored up?</TD></TR></TABLE>
yea.. i had started to assemble the short block and before i put the oil pan on...i was like wtf...balancing...lmao... so i took the rotating assembly back off and took it to get balanced... so im guessing those lines are cause of the rings scrapping against the cylinder walls... it is a fresh bore and hone so.. yea...
oooh...u know what caused those lines...just remembered... when i measured the bore after the bore and hone...i measured it to do my ring end gaps...lol.. so those lines are cause of the tool used..

jus lettin you know im building a similar motor (compression ratio wise) and i was going to rock gsr cams for awhile too but a fellow h-techer brought to my attention that gsr cams run the risk of detonation on a high compression motor because they dont have enough overlap to vent the cylinders not sure if its true for your motor but i figured id let ya know b4 u throw em in and have problems but
for ls vtec

so i finally got everything back from the machine shop... measured all my bearing clearances. and made me happy .=D
they were all perfect (within specs)
now i have to pick up a piston ring compressor to finish my bottom end..ready to slap on my head. =D
