I'm just looking for some clearification on this problem. I've searched, but since so many people get half answers or figure something out and don't post what the fix was i have just confused myself. So please help me out... thanks.

I've got a 91 Civic with the D15 and a Y8 head. I'm OBD1 (P28) and I have a Skunk2 adj. cam gear. I had a hell of a time setting my timing at first and now that I have that all set I pull pretty good from 3500 to 5K and then once Vtec pops I loose power. It's just real flat and a lot louder too.

I found this page too https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=712632, but I'm just confused as to if my cam timing is supposed to be retarded (toward the - sign on the cam gear) or advanced (+ sign). I would imagine it would be advanced, but like I said I am just way too confused here. Again any help is much appreciated!!
