Window Problem: 95 prelude vtec: window went down, and wont come back up. motor still works!
1995 Prelude Vtec: 141k ON CHASSIS
Today I put my window all the way down, and it failed to come back up. The motor still runs,(make noise) but it doesn't go anywhere! I took off the door panel quickly, and grabbed the glass to pull it up. Now it stays up , and goes down... but doesn't come back up...
I've removed the whole system, and tested that in fact the motor does turn the gear. In addition, i removed the track and STILL nothing...
Its almost like the motor doesn't have enough torque to move it up,(it doesn't go up and down easily with my hand push/pulling it....

Is the window off the track?
Id try readjusting it myself. My window fell off the track the other day and I had to take the door apart, and reinstall the window on the track.

its kind of hard to get in there... after taking the door panel off, I gotta rip all that plastic crap out, and check it out today...
hopefully nothign is broken

I had a similar problem....and I just left it up for like 6 months....because I was scared if I rolled it down it would never come back up.Then 1 day I tried it and it was like nothing happened,up and down no problem....so if u figure this out I would like to` know, because I bet its what was happening with my car.

The bolt that you can adjust the window with is behind the door speaker.
You take the bolt out and you can now move the track around.
20 bucks says its not on there right. YOu have to adjust the track with window all the way down. So roll it up and then roll it down and set the track.

ya i just took the door panel off again, and un bolted the motor. WHen it was un bolted, i tested UP and DOWN and it moved the gears in both directions... so the motor isn't fried....
I will have to check out that bolt asap... what is the purpose of that bolt?

Its purpose is to be able to install and unistall the window and keep it in track.
The track is just a metal guide that is held in place with a bolt. Remove the bolt and you can move the window anyway you want. Leave it on and the window will only go up and down one way.

Ok, i took the door panel off for the 3rd time and completely removed the entire power steering motor/arms etc.
everything was sliding fine, and i tested the motor again... IT goes up and down.
The only issue is that, when i press DOWN to go AUTOMATICALLY down, it never turned off... it kept spinning ???
after i installed it again, it still didn't move the window, just made the noise...
new motor?

"LoL All this time I thought you guys meant the metal channel that holds that glass. I finally ripped apart everything in the window and found that it was actually the peice of rubber that fits into the rubber channel that caused the problem.
Looks like over time the rubber gets warped around the shape of the bottom of the window which is usually up. I took a soldering pencil and heated it up to bend it back in shape. Works good as new now. A little wd-40 didn't hurt either. "
that might be the problem?!?!
Im giong to pull out the tracks and try to figure it out
EDIT: I removed both tracks and rubber, and the window still didn't go up... I hear winding noise, but i feel like the motor isn't powerful anymore... NO torque on it... I'm gonna pick up a new one andhopefully that will fix it
