Default Ordering a header! Need as many opinions as possible.

I am looking to order a header next week. Here's the choices : Comptech 4-2-1, DC 4-1 Stainless, or DC 4-2-1 Stainless. I don't want to modify the cat or to have anything welded. I just want to take it to the mechanic and say, "put this on". I know many people have JDM style headers and 2.5 cats, but i don't want to go that route. Any opinons and experiences would be helpful. Thanks.

Try and contact Racer X... He should still have two to choose from.. A mugen and spoon...

He's letting them go for cheap....

Out of those three choices...the comptech did fairly well in the great header test.

I have only seen the comptech and highly recommend it for your application.

As a side note I recommend you attempt the installation yourself since your car is not very old. I was able to swap mine out without much trouble.

My suggestion: get a Honda JDM 4-1 and the bolt-up Carsound cat from Dave (SMSP).

If I am correct he wants to stick with stock cat and all these headers you guys are throwing at him are all 2.5".... If your staying with stock cat like I said... comptech and it's affordable.

Comptech or DC.. with the stock cat, it's pretty much equal..

You don't really need to upgrade your stock cat to make decent power..
Look my my dyno sheet from my other car.. B18C1 93 Civic Coupe

I know this pic sucks, but my scanner is on the fritz.. 177WHP 130lbs of torqe!

Less = More

Hope the pics show..

Spoon or TypeONE. TypeONE is cheaper in price and Spoon is more but best torque figures.

I don't think the 2.5 JDM spec header and high flow cat will be much of a problem. They are "bolt-ons" and if you order the correct Carsound cat from SMSP, or the other board sponsors you should have no problems. I think the gains will be worth it. Car will breath much better..
