Hey guys just wondering if you could help me what is the best header and cat back exhaust for a 01 GSR also what is the difference between the 4-2-1 header and the 4-1 which is better? thanks

 

its all relative to how you want your car to perform....if you want top end only do a 4-1 header, or if you want midrange and some top end do a 4-2-1. best of both worlds is the comptech 4-2-1. otherwise im sure people will tell u to do a dc jdm 4-1 or jdm itr 4-1. catback, i suppose is dependant upon what u want. with the jdm header youll want a 2.5" catback (b/c the jdm header has a 2.5" collector) ...but with the comptech get yourself a dc sports or the like. (you can get a 2.5", but it really has no point if you have a 2.25" collector on the header)

i love my comptech header and dc sports ss catback.

oh ya, and on the great header test the comptech 4-2-1 header made as much hp and more torque than the dc jdm. (and didnt lose low end)

I just got the JDM 4-1 with a Car Sound cat on my GSR and I love it. A good incrase in power and well worth the money.
Some people say the 4-1 makes you loose low end power but have looked at many dyno sheets and the JDM 4-1 shows incrases throughout the whole powerband and a pretty big bump up top.

Well for cat back exhaust you actually want 2.25 inch piping. You'd only want 2.5 if your boosting or have plenty of all motor mods(cams etc.). You could get a JDM Integra Type R header for your GSR. They have a new style header by Hytech that makes awesome power low and top end, but its EXPENSIVE.

 

Not much there are the same. I got the JDM type R headers with the top heat shield and the car looks stock (In case cops want to see the engine)
The Skunk exhaust makes good gains.
