i would suggest aftermarket springs and retainers to give you more of a higher rpm powerband, not to mention at 500whp there will be a lot of pressure behind the valves better safe than sorry. the 60-1 is somewhat large for the b16 and the higher redline will help out a bit. what cams were you going to run?

I thought running a bone stock head would give me a pretty good powerband, but im considering a built head, maybe crower cams stg2 for boost and a supertech valvetrain. Im thinking boost would be around 5k rpm, so If i can rev up to 9k or more with a built head that would be a beefy powerband.

id stick with the oem bumpers ones personally. the crower cams have never impressed me all motor or FI.

You all think a GT3076R would help me achieve 500whp? what about spool up? better than a 60-1?

The GT3076r will inevitably spool faster than the 60-1 and should make the same if not more power. Another option is the BW S256/S258 which compete pretty evenly with the GT30r.
