need way more detail. whats the setup? do you have boost/vac gauge, if so what kind of vac are you pulling at idle or more imprtantly what kind of vac to you pull when letting off the throttle? also as mentioned, where is your vac source?

pop the hood and rev the engine up and watch what the bov does and then report back.

Most times the problems i hear of with Tials is due to a bad vac connection or too small of a line leading to it. That's my only suggestion...check the vac connection

Mine wouldnt blow off at first either, I went to a slightly bigger line and it went away.

I also am running a tial with 11psi spring and it doesn't blow off and does surge only drove the car twice.

k20a2 w/ 13psi I have the vacuum line ran right from the bov to a vac man. about 6 inches from the bov.

... it is Easter weekend, do you expect him to be posted up on here 24-7... I am sure he will chime in when he sees this.

bads2k... what vac does your motor pull at idle when fully warmed up (in/ hg)?

to the op: what size line are you running and have you tried plumbing the line from any other source? also as mike93eh said have you checked it visually to see if it reacts to a rev?

i had a problem with the old design so now I am running the q. I see about 21 in of vac, 1/4" line, straight off the IM. My vac line is about 18" long.

With the new q, when I rev my motor and release, it almost seems like the bov is reacting a little slow. do you think that I should go with a larger vac line?

my q took a couple days to break in. At first it stayed shut at idle, and did nothing when you bliped the gas. After a few days of driving it at idle it stayed open just a little bit, when you hit the gas it closes, when you let off the gas it opens up. Even just reving it to 2-3k. At first I was getting compressor surge, now I am not.

I love it, such a sweet piece.

I think I am running a 10psi spring running 19-20 vacume at idle. I know the spring rates for the new q are different from the old tial design.

Also I am running a pretty small line, had trouble getting it on the nipple of the bov and its about 2 ft long going to the performer x manifold. I am going to replace the line with something bigger shortly.

Hope this helps,
dK

most common issues are:
line is cracked/has a hole in it
user has a gauge that really isn't all that accurate (i'm not going to name names)
line ID is too small
line is not clamped down
the washers that go between the bov and air fitting/air fitting and banjo are not installed

the source is too small
IM gasket leaks http://www.srtforums.com/forum....html
post #36
o-ring is missing/torn on the vband clamp
small t-fittings are installed in the line to the bov
