I missed a gear in my stock gsr and hit rev limiter, anything to worry about? Seems to be running fine.

A mechanical overrev is when you run into problems. The money shift is dowshifting from 3rd gear at redline to 2nd. The rev limiter doen't help there.

Thats not what happened, I just left it in 2nd too long, so I guess you might not even consider that a miss shift.

LoL, If you never bounced your redline before, then you've obviously never driven a Honda before.

missed upshifts and overreving are fine your rev limiter is ther for a reason to prevent damage to ur motor. On the flip down shifting and hitting to low a gear is mechanical over rev and very very very bad ther is no rev limiter since the wheels are driving the motor not the gas pedal. DOnt worry about it youve broke ur honda rev limiter cherry get used to it.

My shift light doesnt flash fast enough in 1st and 2nd so if im waiting for the flash instead of eyeballing, i end up bouncing the rev limiter but as they say, its there to protect you motor.

^ lol, I use to have the same problem, I hooked my shift light up to a car alarm so now it makes a really loud buzz sound when im 400rpm off limiter and that gives me just enough time and warning to shift.

When racing you really dont want to hit limiter, Thats time wasted that could be use still accelerating in other gears and getting a better time.

That depends, In autocross i use 225/45-13's whitch are a couple inches shrter than a oem tire and a lot of the time its faster to bang the rev limiter in 2nd a couple times than shifting to 3rd for a second then downshifting again. Whitch with my shorter tires i hit the top of 2nd a good bit.
