Did some driving tonight.. Missed a gear twice!! Hit rev limiter too.
I was driving tonight and missed a gear twice within a couple of minutes. First 4th then 3rd. I hit the rev limiter a few times after missing the gear both times.
Could I have caused any damage to my motor from doing this? What can happen from hitting the rev limiter like 3 or 4 times twice?
I rarely EVER beat on my car but I did tonight. Also is it bad for your clutch to miss gears?
Ughh, thanks guys.

Your fine. I know people that hit rev all the time and the car is still fine.

Yeah, yeah.. But I have owned my car for 2 years and have never missed a gear. I don't know what happened tonight.
Can you answer my question seriously.

It's been answered. I was just wondering how you miss two gears in a row.

your fine lol, they put the limiter in to keep the car from reving to the point where it damages the motor, the motor is 100% fine at the revlimiter rpm, the honda engineers set it at that rpm for a reason, if it was going to damage the engine at that rpm, they would set it lower right?
my ls/vtec setup (stock bottom end ) sees 7500rpm daily, so far my only problem has been my clutch springs got ripped out of the disc, but that was because of repeated clutch dumps from 5500rpm off the 2-step. your car is fine

Re: (speedooo)
I bounced off the rev limiter once while running a mustang once, and I thought everything was fine, then my car started bogging and eventually turned off. Turned out I burned the ignition coil out. Replaced it, and that was that. I still beat on it to this day without a single problem. My car also had a little over 100,000 miles, so maybe the coil was old, eh.
