Ah man. I didnt know that. I was going to use an R oil pump for my LS short block build up. Is this even recommended, from what I know people say its a good upgrade for the LS pump.
What to do now?

The GSR and Type R pump are the same. They flow better than the B16 and B18B pumps.
If I replace the gear, would a used one be just as good as new? Thanks.

How much are you looking to spend? I was thinking about getting a Toda oil pump and I can order you one when mine is ordered. 22000yen or $190.
Too rich for me. What does a stock gsr or itr one go for anyway? Im too lazy to hit up one of the acura parts retailers.

from what i found the part numbers are all the same for the ls/gs/gsr/type r/crv
is this true?
go to acuraautomotiveparts.net and if you select any oil pump from 89-95 they are all the same , and 96-01 are all the same part number.
I have a friend that works at honda, got a b16 oil pump -94-95 and it is the exact part number for a 94-95 gsr. Which they have in stock still. the 96-01 are all backordered.
If someone has part numbers please post them thanks

I ordered the Spoon pump instead since it's made by Toda and comes complete with the gears and case. Normal price is 26000yen but I got mine for 20000yen ($172).
Ok, so I call the dealer today. TypeR pump is $115 vs GSR $165. Not the same part# the dealer says, which one should I get?
This may help (however, I don't have the # for the B18C5 or the B20)
Rated at 6000RPM
B16A oil pump 53qpm
B17A oil pump 54qpm
B18C oil pump 75qpm
B18B oil pump 53qpm
Wish I knew if the Type R flowed more. The GSR pump seems pretty efficient though.

$180 for a spoon pump seems like a good deal. you get a new pump & an upgraded gear for less then the cost of a prodrive gear that doesn't include the pump.
