Default vafc

are u able to switch the vtec engagement point from the vafc or do u have to go like internal. if so, how?

make sure the vafc is on then go to settings and u can lower or raise the engagement from the vtec control option.

the vafc is always on if it is hooked up per install instructions.

yes the vafc can change the engagement point. Get it TUNED if you plan on it doing you any good other than looking cool.

the motor will not run correctly, if even at all, if the vafc isn't on. the map sensor wire is spliced to go though it, so i don't think the computer will get any map signal if vafc is off.

another thing to remember is the vafc does not change anything on the ecu. All it does is modify map voltage going to ecu, and engage vtec at whatever rpm vafc is programmed to.

the engine will still run fine with the vafc "off" but there is no off button. IF the car is on, the VAFC is on.

i was going to make a thread with this question too...soo if i buy an vafc and just lower the vtec engagement it wouldent do any good if i dont take it for a tune?

i would like to do this because im taking my car to the track and when i shift from 1st to 2nd gear at 7.5k my car is droping to around 4.5k without vtec

It might do you some good, but without putting 'er on a dyno, it probably won't be worth the $$ you spend on it.
