Pending obd2 codes? How do I clear a pending code? Inspection TOMORROW!
Tried searching, couldn't find what I needed.
I had my inspection today and failed because have a "pending code". Theres no check engine light at all! Its code p1337 - RPM/crank sensor. I have no problems with the car running or the tachometer. Everythings fine which is why this is weird.
How do i clear this code? I took out the ecu for an hour to reset it and then my brother told me to drive a "cycle" which is 40 miles of stop and go and some highway miles doing 60mph. I have to go back for inspection tomorrow, should i pass? or is there somthing else i should do?
cliff notes:
-Car has a "pending" CEL
-How do I clear it?
picture threads get read more!

so then ur crank sensor is bad, change it those usally go bad, do you hae the auto scanner? cuz i do and i just put erase code and it goes away, but will come back on later if you dont fix the problem, my dads suv had a code and we were at dealer,i put the scanner to erase code and they inspected it and it passed, change the crank sensor
thanks....anyone else?
theres no CEL, just a pending code so only the scanner reads it

well if u cleared the code, and the pending code shows back up then you have a problem. The pending code turns into a CEL after a certain amount of times that problem occurs over a certain period of key cycles. the only way to check to see if the pending code is still there is to hook a scanner to it and see if its present...if its not then you have to check to see if the Drive monitors complete. like what your brother said...it has different monitors that has to be completed before you can take it in for inspection
