Default Code 54, is that bad???

Hey, I have a 98 HX with no mods, and I was driving it the other day, and my check engine light came on. Before resetting the ecu, I pulled up the CEL code, and it was a code 54. I know that code 54 is for the Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation sensor, but I was wondering what it does, and what it means if I am getting this code. My car is running fine, and I have reset the ECU and have not gotten a CEL since. It has only been about 2 days now with no light….
What do you guys think???

Thanks,
Jeremy
