Default water spray

I was doing a bit of research today for other cooling options for my turbo build. Already have high quality intercooler, radiator and fan, 1600 degree coatings from FR, etc. I was looking at the NX intercooler spray a few months back and came to the conclusion it was worthless and expensive to buy and keep filling up.

I have seen several shops spray water onto the intercooler and radiator during tuning. I have enough hoses and small pumps, etc, that I could rig up some tiny water lines from a relatively small water tank in the back of the car to spray the IC and rad from time to time during intense driving or long road trips.....does anyone think this will help keep engine bay temps down?

unless you are constantly in boost, yo may see a minimal gain. on the dyno it is from heat soak, the car isnt moving, the fans help but, air moving over the car is much more better.

i am posting this in caps because i am tired of saying this:
IF YOU DO THIS KEEP IT OFF OF THE TRACK.
if you are running water on the track and no one knows it, it can wreak havoc.

i made one and it looks factory, only cost 20 bucks. problem is right after i got it spraying just right, my water reservoir happened to spring a leak. i dont know how much of a gain it would make, but when i had been using mine for that short time, it was so cold out that the water i had sprayed would freeze all over the intercooler. i think that would help buti stopped driving because of the leak.

I woudn't spray on the track...smarter than that...Just thinking that I drive like 3 hours sometimes for different car events and would worry that playing around with friends along the way could cause overheating issues.

I suppose that when I start tracking at HPDE's, I might actually look into compressed air or CO2 to try and spray on it to cool down some. I am not looking for rice power gains whatsoever....I am looking for engine safety and temp control.
