problem with down pipe please help

Default problem with down pipe please help

ok so i have mounted the downpipe however I cannot put in one bolt, the bolt on the bottom closest to the front of the car by the radiator. due to this my car is leaking from that spot does anybody have any suggestions because i heard this is a common problem.

i think i know which one u mean. does it sit under the bend on the pipe? sometimes u gotta dent the pipe a tad bit to get it in. and sometimes that has to be the first bolt u start before the rest are put in so u can tighten it right

well, I'm sure that's the situation the OP is in, more than likely he has a 3" DP that wasn't dented in at the flange or they didn't use a a 2.5" to 3" transition. Maybe try grinding away the weld at that spot and indenting that area and rewelding??

I have an extremely tight fit on mine, using a 2.5" flange with 3" pipe welded right to it. I just barely dented it in and I used stainless allen head bolts to eliminate having to put a socket on it.

Depends on how tight the bend is but can you get any short bolt in there ? Maybe use a stud and thread on the nut before you seat the downpipes all the way

a pivot joint for a socket wouldnt do it ? otherwise as stated above, try the allen wrench.

thats how i did mine and it worked out pretty well
