Default timing advance / retard question.

ive been reading on some things about timing advance.

i just put my motor together and hadnt set the ignition timing yet. i set the timing at work last night and decided to play around a bit. its a z6 and i have another so i wasnt too worried about it, just playing and learning about it.

anyways, i adjusted my cam gear to 2° advance and set my dizzy to 16° BTDC. i heard that can move the power band to allow more low end power.

overall yes it did, i can pull some hills in a higher gear now, however, the car is slower than ****. . i plan to set everything back to stock now that im done playing. but dummy (me) left my timing light at work in my box and cant get it back till thursday.

im going to adjust my cam back to 0°. from what ive read this will put my ignition timing to 18°BTDC.

i plan to set it back to 16 but will it hurt to run it at 18 for a couple days. my hood sticker says timing should be 16 +/- 2° so i dont think it will be a problem, but wanted to ask the professionals. if 18 is going to be a problem, i will just retard the timing blindly and set it back to 16 on thursday. thanks for the help.
