Turbo Noob in Need of Help
So in a market for a turbo, and i want to know what's the difference between t3/t4 and t3/to4e?
I'm scared of ordering the wrong turbo and that it wont fit my manifold and downpipe..
so basically are t4 to4e t4b all the same, and will they fit my dp which is design the for t4
(I'm having trouble finding T4 or i just dont know where to look)

Most of the confusion stems from the fact that when people write online, they tend to shorten things that are unnecessary. Turbos are not denoted "T3/T4." A standard hybrid turbo is denoted "T3/T04x," but in order to save time, people cut the "0" out of the name.
T3
The T3 portion refers to the T3 turbine, or exhaust, housing which tells you the general turbine size; however, there is great variation within that T3 grouping. To have a better understanding of the turbine side, you may consider learning more about turbine wheels, trim, and aspect ratios (ar).
T04x
The T04x portion refers to the compressor side of the turbo. The T04 means that it is a T04 framed compressor. The letter following the "T04" is the compressor housing. The compressor housings you will see most often are the "B, E, and S" housings; however, there are several more. To give you an idea of the differences, here are a few pictures:
T04b (my gt3255b)

From left to right----T04E (60 trim) and T04S (60-1)

who made your manifold and downpipe? most t3/t4 turbos are interchanble and have the same external exhaust dimensions but not all. talk to the manifold and downpipe maker and see what turbos swap in.
what turbo was the downpipe made for?

i know what your asking... i have a t3/t4 turbo, a t3/t04e turbo, and a t4 turbo... lol yes i have all three of them, ive been experimenting... the t3/t4 and the t3/t04e manifold and downpipe are interchangable BUT if you have just a T4... then it most likely wont work because on a T4 turbo where it bolts to the manifold is much larger and also for the downpipe, it clamps on instead of bolting on like the t3/t4 and t3/t04e...

yeah i figured that the the t3 portion is the part on the manifold..
but what i was trying to figure out was what the hell all this to4e, to4b, and to4s where i couldnt just find a t3/t4 it alway had letter behind it.. but know i get it they're all the same its just a different on the shape of the intake turbine deal (dont know what is called lol)

-what's your budget?
-what's your setup?
-what are your power goals??
After we know that and the engine specs, we can help you out in finding a turbo for your needs. You said it was for a 5 bolt dp right??

- 550 and maybe a little more if its really worth it for the turbo
- spoolin perfomance ac friendly log manifold, 2.5" 5 bolt dp, 38mm tial wastegate, 1.5"
open dt, 2.25" ic piping
ek hatch stock healthy gsr motor.. planing on getting tial bov, and a black ic (stealth)
- 250-300hp max (dont wanna blow it up, i think thats safe, is it?)
I would have gone w/ a larger downpipe personally, but if you're on a budget, then that's good enough for now. For your goals, it wont make a big difference anyway.
Your setup is almost identical to my first setup. I made 275/194 w/ a SPoolin log, 2.5" dp and a 60trim turbo. I would suggest a T3 Super60 for your setup. You may want to invest in an aftermarket map sensor because you might be looking around 11-12psi for your goals. That would be a pretty wicked street setup and the Super60 is pretty cheap too.
If you have any other questions, just PM me and i'll help you out
