i currently have wired a battery switch in my 93 civic. but i'm not sure if it's wired the right way. it's a 2 terminal switch and all i did was just broke the wire running to the battery and the starter.

i did a search and nothing came up except a link to this:

but on the moroso switch on there shows 4 terminals, something my switch doesn't have. it also shows a wire from the alternator running to the switch, something i am unable to do (due to the type of switch i have).

is mine fine? do i have to add the alternator wire?

Are you using this as a starter kill (security), or an actual power kill for the car (track use)?

it's plans is for track use. but i currently have a alarm on it (not my DD). i realized if i cut the power to my battery my alarm will be disabled.

isn't the purpose of the switch to cut all power off when the car is on?

 

Well if you have it cutting off your starter, how do you assume it's going to kill engine power?

The switch you have is not really for track use if all it has is 2 leads. You need to kill alternator to stop the car, and starter to keep it from starting again.

My Moroso is 2 leads. I set it up like this:

Alternator - switch - Battery And battery - switch - fuse box. That way when the switch is hit i loose all power. Your way to the starter doesnt really do anything.

is there a way you can maybe explain it alittle better? or show some type of schematic?

also, if i was to do it your way, will i still have power to my alarm? this is kind of my main concern, i really don't want to loose power to my alarm.

Do it the way luserkid described, hook up your alarm directly to your battery's positive terminal.

I don't recomend that with a lower end alarm because they could easily just cut that wire as well.Most of the higher end dei/viper/python/crimegaurd/ have battery back up systems available so even if that wires cut it will still go off.
