Default Need help identifying my tranny

Hey guys, here is the story, my hx tranny went out while ago, bought a So called 96 ex tranny from this local on craigs list, it was fine syn's good nice insides, but i have no clue what tranny it is, when driving it feels like the ex, but have no idea, and there are no vin #'s on it at all, it has the thick shift forks not the aluminum ones, does that make it a 92-95 tranny, I dont know, because i want to buy a input shaft bearing in it, and i got one for a 96 ex, and i dont think it is going to fit, input shaft seems a lot smaller, any help would be great, or any secret way to tell what tranny it is when its on the car, because i dont have it off yet, i am trying to get the parts first, well thanks sorry for the silly question, i just cant find out

if you are sure it has the steel shift forks and not aluminum then its for sure 96+, you just need to look on the end of the case above the fill plug for the circle, inside that circle should be cast A00 or B00

B00 is EX

Sounds like you got a dx instead...sorry. Ex = larger bearings, Dx = smaller bearings. And if the forks are larger/thicker, then they're aluminum too!

If it doesn't have a vin plate on it then it isn't a 96+ unless someone removed it but that would be obvious. Look for a raised stamp on the case should be near the drain or fill plug that says A000 or B000. What shift fork are you talking about? clutch fork?

Yes, that is a '92-'95 model year tranny in the DIY...and yes, you have a '92-'95 model year tranny. After you throw on your coat and take the 10 seconds to look at the casting mark right next to the drain plug you'll see the A000 or B000. You'll wanna hope for B000...
