With Race fuel or with pump gas? Whats the compression ratio? 9.1:1?

 

right now 9.5:1 but I wanna lower it down to 9:1
and I want 400whp on 93 octane and 450whp on race fuel

Yes you can but probably not on pump gas. I can go over 400 but i run on VP C-12

Yeah in general it would be easier. I chose to stick with the Ls head jsut becuase im making good power and i cant see fixing something that aint broke. I bought a Type R head a while back but i jsut sold it after contemplating about throwing it on for a few weeks. The LS will definantly need headwork to make serious power.

there's a place here in torrance, where you can get 100 octane for $3 a gallon...
better than $1.97 per gallon for 91 octane...

 

I don't think so, the octane is too low. Instead of using C-12, C16 is a much better gas for turbocharged or nitrous motors. I think the max you can make is about 350 on 93 octane, safely that is. You can make 400hp at least a couple of times, if you would like to try.

By the way C16 is good, but VP just released a new import gas that is supposed to replace C16 and that would be VP Import. Just released for you info.

Best to replace that cylinder head with a Vtec one. That cylinder head sucks!

 

Just that it flows bad or not having VTEC.. I have a full p/p stage 5 race head. still not good enough?
