spark plugs black! running rich? what to do?
just like the title says...what should i do? i run regular 87 gas in my 97' rs with stock internals, huge intake, dc 4-1 headers, silicone spark plug wires(resistance of 122-123...measured), and....
double platinum spark plugs

You throwing any CEL's? You might need an injection service, dude. It shouldn't be running super rich with just a couple of bolt-ons.

I think I just bought the ECU from you on e-bay. Thanks. I am having the same problem with my 2001 GSR. It fouls the plugs and will barely run when it is cold. It is running so rich that the plugs will foul and I have to take them out and clean them for it to run again. I checked the MAP, ECT, IAT, O2 sensors. I am going to have the ECU programmed and see if that fixes it. My fuel pressure is perfect and I tested the injectors and they are all firing with a good spray pattern.
Any thoughts?

yes you did buy the ecu off of me! haha what a small world; but um I don't know why this is happening...my spark plugs are on snug, double platinum-dont know how to measure the gape
i don't believe it would be the ecu, but i can see it being the o2 sensor in ur case, but like i said i just replaced mine...anyone know of a write-up that refers to this problem for us 2 with it???
^^^^^ beat me to it, but yeah, my buddy swapped motors between his DA's one coolant temp sensor was slow, and up til that point, I have only seen turbo hondas run that rich at idle, lol
well my c/h gauge was going down and up and when i replaced the thermostat it fixed that problem...now it sits steady at right under a half no matter if im idling or accelerating...
still replace sensor u think??
