BOOST + ATS final drive = Insanity?
This equals no traction from 1st to 3d

depends on level of boost...but some NA cars have problems hooking up w/ the ATS w/ enough power

.....it might be prudent to get the boost part running right and see how you like that. run the 1320 a few times and see if it meets your needs.

THEN, if you're feeling like it - try the ATS final... But it may be difficult to hook up on street tires...

but i think boosting cars have not much top end power compared to n/a and they usually make power at low end so i think not worth it

boost wants to rev lower

but not every cars

on our cars i disagree......yes FI does give good low end, but top end is where it shines...look at superchargers, the basic principle says the high the motor revs the more power it will make....

BOOST + ATS final drive = Insanity?

This equals no traction from 1st to 3d
thus you get the insane burnouts?

itr1244 you clearly have no idea what boost lag is...i make jack **** for power until 4500 rpms

I'm sure Zygspeed's going to do it, though. Just check w/him in a few weeks.
Actually, I'm looking at either a bigger turbo (T60) so as to still be "efficient" @ 9-9.5 K rpm, or GSR type gearing and a Kazz.

This weekend's research project.

btw -- what is the displacement of an ITR motor that's be changed from 10.6:1 to 9:1 by replacement of the pistons?
And while your at it ... the CFM at speeds of 4.5, 6, 7.5 and 9K rpm. TIA ed

Boost + 4.9 FD = no usable traction in any gear except with slicks on a drag strip.
The first question Steve (sgT) asked me is how much traction do you not want to have!?

It's also a top speed issue as I'd said above, at least for me.

true for a centrifugal blower, but not a positive displacement "roots" style blower.

Depending on how you sie the turbo, you may not have long eough gearing to build full boost in the first 2 gears. turbo motors generally appreciate taller gearing.

Hence why most argue the LS tranny, with the lower final drive, is the better turbo tranny...

yea but once your spooled your 2nd 3rd and 4th shift will come so fast you wouldn't be able to shift fast enough. plus with boost you wouldn't want to hurt your top end, that's where it shines.

The advantage of the LS tranny is the third gear, its so long and you can build up a lot of boost in that gear.
