sorry sounds serious to me
it could be that the transmission is chewed up

hopefully you have warranty on it
don't tell them you went to the track though

If its dying in neutral than its a motor problem. Do a compression test on it. And yea definitely dont tell anyone about the track experience lol

do you think he blew his motor?
that could be another scenario

from the stories i've heard, the motor doesn't sometimes blow instantly
it can die over time

Do a compression test it will tell all but sounds like a bent valve especially with what you said your cousin did and the symptoms your car has. Engines not blown but sounds like a bent valve problem. I'd definately get money from your cuz..

It doesnt really die over time its just that something isnt working right and people never get it fixed so it creates more problems which leads to it being completely toast.

How exactly does it sound when youre accelerating? Any ticking? Im not too sure on how that shift could have caused the timing to go off. Just go do a compression test. The compression tester costs like $20 at autozone and you can do it yourself in like 5 minutes.

well ill do a compression test a little later today.. but their is no tickink from the motor and the sound is just like if i had a big exhausrt but with a constant sound of it wanting to die out and it order to keep it on i have to keep my foot on the gas and to take off i havre to be like at 3 to 4 grand on the rpms in order for it to start moving... definetely my cousin said he would pay most of the dammage...

he better pay for all the damage. He was the one who did it, he needs to fix it not part of it.

I disagree, the op gave him permission to drive the car so how is it his cousin's fault? He should have known the risk of racing the car much less someone else.

So your saying if you let, lets say your neighbor drive your car to do something and he dents it or crashes it you wouldn't have him fix what he broke? If No, then you need to be my neighbor and let me drive your car. It's the other persons responsibilty to fix what he/she broke. It's the same as a car accident. Your going to let the OP not fix what he broke if they crashed into you? The car was 100% operational and working when you lent it, it should come back in the same state it was before the OP had it.

fo shizzle, your doing him a favor by letting him drive your car, and if he messes it up, he needs to fix it

only thing i would recommend you doing is taking it apart before any more damage is done to the motor... good luck!
