I have a friend that is planning on running an LS/VTEC with a NOS setup. He wanted to know if you want a higher or lower compression ratio to run Nitrous?
Thanks
Thanks
Well since I saw no good answer I thought I would enlighten some. The higher the better to a point. Even in all motor setups. So with that being said, if using cast pistons, I would stay around 10.5:1-11:1 with forged pistons 12.5:1 would be the highest.
I have tunned and build to cars with high compression. 10.83:1 in a B18c5 bottom end, which is cast pistons and a 75 shot, and a H22 with 12.5:1 JE forged pistons with a 125 shot.
Tunning and timing is the key. If those are right then you should have no problem.
In my experience I see the stock valves being the problems.
