Nitrous w/ Low Compression Pistons
I read that nitrous ...once heated to a certain temperature ... released oxygen inside the combustion chamber... is there any advantage of running lower compression pistons ? even if it isnt performance ... let me know what ya think .. if it would be more reliable ect ... Excluding a larger range the Air/fuel ration can be .. will there be less wear/tear ? so inturn a larger shot can be run ?

Nitrous and high compression can coexist relatively well. Unless you were running a track only car lower the cr of the pistons is not a good, nor necessary venture.

laughin : hey man .. how big of a difference would it be running the lower compression ... i have a bottom end 8.5:1 arias, eagle rods, block guard .. not puting a turbo on it at this time .. .was going to put some aggressive cams in it .. and spray on top of it from time to time ... is it worth the time me taking the pistons and rods out and putting higher compression ones in ?

+1 compression increase tend to give around a 10 whp increase in power. Going up to 11:1 cr would give about 15-20 extra hp. This would be good for racing on the bottle and for around town driving. In all honesty, if you are going to turbo the motor soon and are satisfied with the amount of power that you are putting out on an 8.5:1 cr then I would leave the bottom end alone. If you are not satisfied with the power that the car has, or are not going turbo for a long time toss the higher compression pistons in. It's really a personal decision that is dependent on your plans for your car. For me, I have no desire to go turbo, so when I get around to building the motor I will be putting in 11:1 cr pistons to replace the 10:1 stockers.
