Default Do you think this is worth it? Possibly buying 96 hatch

So i am selling my 06 Si because I just cant really afford the payments on top of other things and I came across the 1996 DX hatch. I emailed the guy he said it runs great. He wants 2250 for it. This is the ad:

2 door hatchback, manual, 118K, AC
Fair to good condition: a few dents and scuffs (see pictures)
Runs great, very reliable, excellent gas mileage (34 mpg)

How bad do you think the dame in the first pic is? You think it can be pulled or popped out? Im just looking for a reliable DD thats somewhat clean or that I can clean up for cheap? I might look at it this week.

I think if i show with 2000 cash he'll take it.

Thoughts A/C?

Price is too high for a car with that damage IMO, quarter panel is killed

you'll prolly spend just as much for good body work and paint as you did for the whole car

The KBB on it is prob like $2500-3000 but I wouldn't pay a cent over $1500. It's just not worth it.

If you feel comfortable doing the body work yourself & the rest of the car is mint is it worth 2k (to me)

i wouldn't buy it for 2k. that quarter panel damage takes a pretty experienced body guy to cut out and reweld. Not to mention a respray cuz the whole car looks pretty jacked as far as paint goes.

if you want t a longterm project and get it for cheap, it would be ok

I paid $2000 for my 96 hatch that had far less body damage than that. You can do better.

id offer him 1500ish...

i paid 4k for my mint 1996 EK hatch with 105k on it .i shopped around and found bunch for 3k ish range but in the long run i think its better to start out fresh because paint/bodywork costs $$$ so i figured in the long run i would be saving payin a little more for a mint car then buying a cheaper chasis and gettin it cleaned up. goodluck on your build!!!
